my linux story: acer aspireone revisited

 anybody willing to tell me why the hell is wireless network working so erroneously on 9.10 on acer (aoa 110)? randomly there's no wireless icon, or the connection is severed, or it can't connect to any network, or the network card's not working (the system says). updates and upgrades seem to change something, but never for good.

i must admit that 9.10 on lenovo s10 still works.
the priceless adventure for today is, though: i hotplug an lcd monitor and the system freezes completely. "skinny elephants" help, though while setting up displays it freezes again. then again. and only through some experimentation and (i assume) finding the proper order of clicks i manage to make it display on the external monitor. i don't try using two screens, as intended. too risky.
