audacity is unable to use a chosen directory as a temp dir if it is chosen in the "media" dir (i.e. on another, in this case ntfs partition) - every time it is started it says it can't find its temp dir.
this is so lovely. i set up the temp dir on the ubuntu native partition and audacity asks to restart it. next time again it is pointed at the other partition it can't find so it can't be run at all. it's easily solved by deleting the .cfg file (in [user name]/.audacity-data dir, but WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO KNOW IT?
